Hawkshead. Looked round the old grammar school where Wordsworth cut his name into the desk, then at Beatrix Potter’s drawings in her husband, William Heelis’s office. Then to Sizergh Castle but couldn’t concentrate on any of it. I’ve had my money’s worth with the National Trust this year. Went to farm shop in Sizergh and came home. Got in the house just missing the impact of the massive storm.
