To the Mercantour staying, hiking and a lovely week with Mel and Liz and Bridget. Home for walks.
March
To the Lakes for my birthday, back home for the start of plague lockdown 1.0. A canal trip courtesy of Cath, she was the last person I hugged. Photo on boat is with Teresa. An old one of me on a Stop Clause 28 march. Movie of the year.
April
Bluetits, garden, cutting my own hair, walks, walks, walks, the M62 on Easter Sunday
May
Garden, water damaged sitting room ceiling, distanced walk with Cliff, first time we’d seen each other since January. Chris, Gerry and Andy on a boat.
June
Bluetits fledged, more garden, more walks
July
Memory lane trip to Cornwall, Tracey and Liz, the best friends a boy can have. Sad death of Marc Treanor who made Chris’s sand circle at Mwnt on her birthday after she died. We put the ashes in the circle to take her out on the waves in her favourite element. Plus some older photos of winter in the village and a quaint sign on the Applecross peninsula.
August
Several walks on my own at National Trust properties. Short trip to North Yorkshire. Chris’s sand circle. Chris in the 1980s. Natalie Maines obsession revving up.
September
Walks with Gerry and Hilary, with Nancy. More at Nat Trust places. Natalie. Martie and Emily because it’s also the music.
October
Cousins, lovely cousins. Tracey in Bath. Old one of me in Cherbourg, taken by Chris. Message to me from Chris the day after Carol and I got hitched. Brucey boy as sexy at 71 as ever. Carol would have been 60.
November
Walks and winter light. My dad before I met him.
December
Winter light, winter trees. Me and Chris a long long time ago. Natalie.
